Over three weeks in July 2025, the Department of Education will be offering summer literacy camps for students entering either Grade 2 or Grade 3 next school year.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
School: Whitehorse schools to be determined
Position: Educational Assistant - several positions at various schools
Summer Numeracy Camp - ½ days
Start Date: July 7, 2025 End Date: July 25, 2025
Over three weeks in July 2025, the Department of Education will be offering summer numeracy camps for students entering either Grade 3 or Grade 4 next school year.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:
- Grade 12 graduation or equivalent;
- Experience working with elementary-aged youth;
- Experience working with neuro-diverse students
- Post-secondary training in Exceptionalities Worker Program, Special Education, Teacher Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Services or Medical Services would be an asset
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and parents;
- Adaptability to cope with a wide variety of situations;
- Ability to work as a member of a team;
- Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Preference will be given to teachers currently employed by the Department of Education;
- To be a Teacher in Yukon, you must hold a Teacher Certification in another Canadian province/territory first.
- Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check.
