Reporting to the Senior Manager, Revenue Management, the Manager Revenue Management is responsible to achieve/exceed corporate revenue targets across assigned route and Origin-Destination groups by developing and managing the implementation of Revenue Management strategies and responding with tactical solutions to adapt to changing market conditions.

This position may be located in Montreal or Toronto.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage Flight Revenue Managers and Demand Managers based on evolving route performance and OD demand forecasts to guide the implementation and evolution of strategies that ensure corporate revenue targets are achieved as established by branch leaders.
  • Ensure alignment of inventory and pricing strategies to collectively achieve revenue targets.
  • Monitor and provide updates on performance in relation to planned revenue targets on an on-going basis.
  • Collaborate across the Revenue Management branch with various geographical teams, Premium, Ancillary, Science, and user support teams to maximize learning and idea exchange and effectively implement branch and team strategies.
  • Develop and maintain market knowledge particularly with regards to seasonality, competition, and other market forces as well as network flows for the different points of sale.
  • Set achievable market share targets on an origin-destination basis in line with schedule objectives and the strategies set by the branch leadership.
  • Develop, implement and manage tactical actions to leverage short term opportunities or minimize unforeseen threats - ie. through change in traffic flows, origin-destination demand, channels, or point of sale conditions, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Network Planning and Scheduling team to understand the impact of the network schedule on traffic flows and revenue. Work with Scheduling to effectively implement short-term capacity planning actions.
  • Lead and influence stakeholders from various partner branches (marketing, sales, scheduling and planning, etc.) to collectively define, react, and leverage market opportunities and levers.
  • Monitor flight and demand calibration workflows and ensure best practices are being followed.
  • Monitor, interpret, and share results to guide and implement post auditing on Revenue Management strategies and tactics.
  • Actively participate in the continuous enhancement of Air Canada's Revenue Management processes and tools.
  • Select, manage, coach and develop staff in all functions.
  • Various ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications
  • University Degree in an appropriate field such as economics, mathematics, engineering or business, and/or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related field or industry.
  • Proven experience in airline revenue management and in depth understanding of airline industry operational environment an asset.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter and ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.
  • Sound understanding of our Star Network and flow potential.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and Power Point applications.
  • Experience & knowledge in Origin-Destination Revenue Management an asset.
  • Revenue Management, Sales and or other Marketing background is an asset
