Your Opportunity

Our Western Canadian offices are looking for a Senior Manager to join SR&ED Group and own the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and support SR&ED client engagements focusing on the BDO’s target industries while also collaborating with BDO SR&ED team across the country.

  • Engage, identify and maintain relationships with clients becoming a trusted and influential advisor.

  • Examine client operations and processes and gather required evidence to support the development of review-ready SR&ED tax credit claims. Through this process, you will follow the appropriate methodology to maximize tax incentives available to each client.

  • Coordinate a team of consultants on multiple client engagements to prepare and submit quality SR&ED filings for BDO’s clients.

  • Effectively communicate with team members about progress updates and issues.

  • Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your engagement team.

How do we define success for your role?

  • You will understand the industries BDO services and contribute to the group's advancement.

  • You will ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately reviewed by maintaining the necessary technical knowledge and professional development.

  • You will recommend and implement quality or efficiency improvements to our engagements.

  • You will actively engage in communication with people leaders to ensure understanding of performance and development, while identifying and attracting top talent.

  • You will support our firm's revenue growth by referring clients to other services lines and new clients to BDO.

Your experience and education

  • You have completed your CPA designation.

  • You have completed or are interested in completing the In-Depth Tax Program (an asset).

  • You are a recognized subject matter expert and leader with 5+ years of SR&ED experience, either through working in the manufacturing industry or supporting engineering processes within a SR&ED consulting practice.

  • You have a deep understanding of SR&ED program rules and policies.

  • You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.

  • You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
