Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• CMLTO Member in good standing required
• Registered In Haematology, Immunohaematology and Biochemistry required
• Management education certificate or equivalent preferred
• 6 years relevant experience in Core Laboratory required
• Advanced expertise in one or more of the specific core laboratory disciplines required
• Ability to lead within a team environment is required
• Demonstrated ability to be self motivated
• Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with the ability to complete tasks independently by due date
• Excellent interpersonal skills required
• An ability to work with minimal supervision required
• Proven commitment to further education required
• Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of programs including Outlook , Word, Excel, PowerPoint required
• Familiarity with computerized Lab Information System (Meditech/Oracle) required
• Demonstrated ability to fulfill role within Attendance Support Program parameters
Reports to the Charge MLT of each area:
• Performance of Routine testing in all Core Laboratory disciplines
• Perform Laboratory tests and assignments of more complex nature e.g. performance of equipment and method evaluation/validations and special procedures
• Troubleshooting equipment and quality problems
• Assist the Charge MLT, Laboratory Manager and Director and support Core Laboratory staff as required
• Maintain supplies inventory and staff scheduling
• Performs other related duties as assigned and required
• Ability to educate, teach and manage all aspects of Point of Care (POCT) testing
• Foster interdepartmental relationships
• Provides education/training to Nursing, Lab Staff and Students
Successful applicant will be considered a multisite employee
Selection will be made on the basis of skill, ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 21.01 of the OPSEU Collective Agreement
