Technical Lead - SAP Basis & Security

Job description:

The SAP Basis and security lead is responsible for manage SAP BASIS operations, administration, and optimization of SAP landscapes in on-premise, cloud, or hybrid environments

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of SAP S/4 HANA systems, including system monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and transport management.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, Setup and maintenance of SAP S4HANA Cloud and SaaS systems (S/4HANA, BTP, Service Cloud, Cloud ALM, etc.) in both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Perform SAP system upgrades, patches, and regular health checks to ensure system stability.
  • Lead and implementation of SAP systems under RISE with SAP, including S/4HANA Cloud and Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Optimize SAP landscapes and performance post-migration under the RISE framework.
  • Manage the integration of cloud-based SAP services, ensuring smooth connectivity and hybrid cloud operations.
  • Collaborate with SAP, cloud service providers, and internal teams to ensure successful delivery of SAP services in a cloud-first model.
  • Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and recommend tuning measures to enhance system performance.
  • Monitor system KPIs and ensure that SLAs are met.
  • Optimize database performance, execute data archiving, and ensure smooth backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Manage system security, including role management, user access, and authorization controls.
  • Ensure SAP systems are compliant with regulatory requirements and data security standards.
  • Perform regular security audits and implement necessary patches or fixes.
Required Skills
  • 10-12 years of experience in SAP BASIS administration with a deep understanding of SAP technical architecture Experience with RISE with SAP, including S/4HANA Cloud, and Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Expertise in SAP system migrations (on-premise to cloud or hybrid environments), upgrades, and patching.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP HANA databases, including installation, monitoring, and tuning.
  • Experience in managing cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for SAP hosting under Rise
  • Hands-on experience with SAP backup and recovery strategies, system copies, and high-availability configurations. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide a technical team.
