Cash Applications Specialist - 3 month contract

We're seeking an enthusiastic, CASH APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST to join our finance team, on a temporary basis for three (3) months.

Your Role: You will pay a key role in ensuring that all payments are deposited daily and allocated accurately!

This position is full-time in Cardinal’s head office, located in Mississauga at 6600 Goreway Drive, Unit D.

Responsibilities include all things related to cash applications, including

• Payment processing: depositing all cheques, cash, electronic transfers, credit card payment daily
• Applying payments to the correct customer accounts and invoices each day
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of customer accounts
• Researching and resolving discrepancies
• Working with customers and other team members to resolve any issues
• Improving processes
• Other related responsibilities

What You Bring:

• 2 years of cash applications experience, preferably in transportation or manufacturing
• Must have own vehicle (to go to the bank for the deposits)

• Computer-literate, with experience using finance systems such as Business Central or Dynamics along with experience with the MS suite including email, Word and Excel
• Post-secondary education in finance or accounting
• Great communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain positive, professional working relationships and strong rapport with colleagues and customers
