About this opportunity:
Cenovus’s Atlantic Region Offshore Operations team is seeking three (3) crane Operators.
This position will be based offshore on the SeaRose FPSO, Grand Banks, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. This is a full-time, permanent position working 12-hours per day on a 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off rotation within the offshore marine team, reporting to the Marine Coordinator.
What you’ll do:
Maintain the integrity and perform safe and efficient maintenance and operation of all cranes and lifting systems and equipment. This is to be conducted in accordance with Cenovus Policies and Procedures, Regulatory requirements, and offshore industry standards, to achieve established objectives safely in the most productive and cost effective manner possible.
Conduct all business professionally, communicating in a clear and timely fashion and providing accurate information and records.
Attend to crane operations, including hooking and slinging of loads.
Prepare and review SeaRose Work Permits.
Vessel-to-vessel transfers and movement of cargo around deck.
Have the role of Helicopter Landing Officer. Actively participate as a member of the helicopter operations team.
Organize and prioritize container movement and offloading cargo from containers.
Assist with cargo and ballast operations, including shuttle tanker offloading operations.
Control loose lifting gear / Rigging loft attendant.
Manage and segregate hazardous waste.
Transfer of personnel ship-to-ship.
Be an active participant of the Offshore Fire Team.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
5-10 years related experience in an industrial mechanical handling environment (preferably in the offshore or vessel to vessel crane transfers)
Experience with the operation and maintenance of offshore cranes
High school diploma and Industry certification
Offshore Crane Operator Level III competent/experienced
Having the following experiences/certification would be an asset, but not required: Oil Tanker and/or FPSO experience greater than 5 years and / or Marine Bridge Watch Certification and / or experience working as a Deck Hand / Sea Person
We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to offshore pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a CAPP medical and BST/HUEBA testing.
You must be able to travel via helicopter and boat. This position requires the successful candidate travel offshore, there you will be required to obtain and maintain medical clearance and obtain all required training necessary for offshore travel.
