About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Midstream Senior Control Room Supervisor, the Midstream Control Room Operator will remotely control and operate pipeline facilities including terminals and Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) stations utilizing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Leak Detection systems for a safe and efficient transport of resources. The successful candidate will have strong technical problem-solving and data analysis skills that are crucial for diagnosing and resolving issues quickly and accurately to maintain the integrity and safety of the pipeline system.

Work Environment:

  • This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area

  • This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation of 5 days on, 5 days off, 4 days on, 5 days off, 5 days on, and 4 days off

What you’ll do:

  • Remote operation of pipeline facilities using SCADA and Leak Detection systems

  • Collaboration with various teams, engineering, maintenance, operations, and SCADA technicians

  • Representation of HGMP in interactions with third parties

  • Data review and ensure volume metric balancing

  • Safety and Compliance following safe work practices, regulatory requirements, and company standards (HMGP and Cenovus Management systems)

  • Adherence to high reliability standards and safe work practices

  • Decision Making and Problem Solving using processes, procedures, and support from upper management and SCADA technicians to make informed decisions and handle abnormal or emergency situations

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering certificate or Journeyman Trades Person

  • Gas Process Operator (GPO) and or Production Field Operator (PFO) certificate considered an asset

  • 1 year minimum of Oilfield and Operating a Control System experience

  • Human Machine interface, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, and other Control systems experience

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
