The Access to Care Program is currently recruiting a full-time, permanent Manager to oversee its Bridging Service, Virtual Urgent Care Clinic (VUC), and Primary CONNECT teams. This role is an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and make a significant impact in the field of mental health and addictions care.
The Bridging Service is a drop-in, low barrier, rapid access service that provides short-term care for clients who have recently been discharged from an acute care inpatient unit or diverted/referred from the ED. Services include medication management, housing and financial support, and psychosocial support. The Manager will also oversee the Virtual Urgent Care Clinic and Primary CONNECT, a new partnership between CAMH and two local Community Health Centres.
Reporting to the Clinical Director of Access to Care, the Manager will support CAMH’s new strategic plan, Connected CAMH. This role offers the chance to lead in a dynamic environment, fostering innovation and excellence in acute mental health and addictions care. The Manager will provide visionary leadership to an inter-professional team, promoting best practices and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the effective operations of Bridging Service, VUC, and Primary CONNECT. This involves managing human resources, including recruitment and performance management; ongoing team planning; initiative implementation and evaluation; budget planning and monitoring; and advancing the academic mission of the service. The Manager will collaborate with leaders of other clinical teams, especially the ED and outpatient programs, to develop and maintain integrated care pathways. Ensuring best clinical practices are implemented across the service is a critical aspect of this role.
This position is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Access to Care Leadership and key internal and external stakeholders on program planning and continuous quality improvement initiatives. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is currently located at the Queen Street site but may require work arrangements from other CAMH locations.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree in a health related discipline, e.g., Health Administration, Public Health, Research, Knowledge Translation or a Clinical field, with at least 3 years progressive leadership experience. Registration in good standing with a professional college (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Registered Nurse) is required. Specialized knowledge of mental health and addictions is required. Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise the work activities of others and to provide leadership, in addition to excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential as well as excellent writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software are required. The ability to work with persons of diverse ethnoracial and cultural backgrounds is also required along with conflict resolution skills. The ability to manage budgetary and statistical data and knowledge of human resource management practices in a unionized environment is also required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
