As a member of Power’s Canadian Business Development team, the Business Development Analyst will provide support to advance the team’s objective of growing Enbridge’s power business in Canada through development, acquisitions and other commercial opportunities.

The candidate will be responsible for coordinating and preparing analysis; development of presentations related to our Canadian power projects including onshore power development, acquisitions or joint ventures; analysis and preparation of departmental and project budgeting and reporting; competitive, market and technology research; and high-level economic screening of opportunities.

What You Will Do:

Under the direct supervision and guidance of senior members of the Canadian Business Development team, the Analyst will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Performing industry research on topics of interest, including competitors, potential new jurisdictions, and new technologies, and presenting to the Business Development team.

  • Conduct power market assessments and research to support the Business Developer(s) in identifying preferred markets for growth opportunities.

  • Prepare internal / external communication materials that support the Business Developer(s) in clearly articulating the project to its partners.

  • Assist with developing presentations for internal functional groups and senior management regarding the assessment of various opportunities.

  • Assist with the organization of internal resources to support project development and diligence, and coordinate with various internal partners to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Undertake ad-hoc analysis and preparation for internal reporting, Board presentations, business plan development or other pivotal initiatives.

Who You Are:

  • You possess a University Business / Economics / Engineering degree from a nationally recognized program or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • Up to 2 years of relevant experience in finance, engineering, project management or business development roles

  • Strong data management and research skills

  • Proven attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)

  • Knowledge of project management and/or risk management considered an asset
