We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to work collaboratively with a high functioning team to drive continuous improvement, capture requirements and support our business objectives. You will assist the area supervisor(s) with future maintenance activities such as maintenance planning and scheduling, outage coordination, procuring materials, developing work order requests, and coordinating field maintenance contractors and ensure that resources are identified for effective and efficient work execution.

What you will do:

  • Develop and document maintenance work packages.
  • Conduct field walk downs to identify and detail job requirements. Identify potential safety hazards and recommend administrative controls, engineering control techniques, or other mitigations (initial JHA development).
  • Estimate required hours, by craft, to perform work and skills required to perform tasks.
  • Identify requirements of equipment isolation and lock-out plans. Collaborate with technicians and area field engineers as needed.
  • Review job scope, procedures, and job plans with lead technicians & Supervisors.
  • Ensure all resources are identified prior to start of jobs (parts, drawings, manuals, tools, workforce, mobile equipment, etc.)
  • Communicate site/area operational outage requirements with the Region Outage Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with SCM to specify and procure parts and materials.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, Area Technicians & Region RMA to optimize the coordination of PM scheduling and execution.
  • Communicate with and maintain a positive working relationship with the Control Center Operators, Engineering, Operations personnel, Maintenance personnel, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.
  • Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a driver’s abstract check prior to hire.

Who you are:

  • Related university degree and six‐plus years’ experience OR eight‐plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
  • Strong maintenance planning and scheduling skills.
  • Good maintenance skills and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills, (Microsoft Word, Excel Programs). Experience using computerized maintenance management system (Maximo)
  • Experience using capacity outage planning and safe work approval (COPAS)
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID/ single and one-line drawings and OEM manuals.
  • Knowledgeable in oil/gas pipeline operations is desirable.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is typically based in a Field Office (80%), Field related duties including emergency response (20%)
  • 9/80 schedule
  • Occasionally required to work long hours on short notice.
  • Occasional daily travel of 50-100 miles between assigned stations.
  • Travel throughout the region for emergencies, training, and regional meetings.
  • Occasional work in extreme cold (-40F) and extreme heat (100 F).
  • Work is often required in high noise level areas and areas where vapor from crude oil and solvents may be present.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs as needed.
