What You Will Do:
  • Responsible for monthly reporting to Directors and Senior Leadership on financial information relating to Budgets, Forecasts, and Actuals of operating expenditure/operating & maintenance expense with recommended mitigation strategies to attain financial targets;

  • Assist the Manager and Supervisors in providing active financial support and counsel to the business;

  • Finance Lead for a particular VP/group of Directors and provide financial support, analysis and interpretation of financial and operational performance on a timely basis to various operating groups, as required to support their business and strategic decisions;

  • Build relationships with the operating groups, particularly with individuals responsible for compilation and assessment of financial data, including forecasts, with a view to understanding and validating the processes used by them in generating their outputs;

  • Responsible for assisting with inputs to support periodic forecasts, the annual budget cycle and long range plans;

  • Responsible for the oversight of more junior analyst’s activities as they related to the responsible department, including review of journal entries and analysis

  • Continually support the team in the identification, assessment, mitigating, remediating, and management of risk exposures

  • Provides expertise, mentorship and indirect leadership to the full team of analysts in their day-to-day duties.

  • Subject matter expert for processes, procedures, and financials. Applying knowledge when completing tasks and provides assistance to the full team

  • Assigned key role in ensuring the responsible management of O&M responsibilities and special projects

  • Key authority and lead when reviewing financial processes and reporting to implement efficiencies

  • Leverage operational improvement and efficiency opportunities including using system capabilities

  • Peer leadership and training of analysts with a focus on growing the abilities and knowledge of the team

Who You Are:Required:
  • Finance related designation (CMA, CA, CPA, CGA, CFA or similar)

  • 6+ years progressive experience with business performance analytics related roles preferably with understanding of strategy execution to understand the financial implications

  • General understanding of regulatory and public accounting, tax, corporate finance, regulatory

  • Highly analytical with outstanding financial modelling skills and the ability to communicate findings and recommendations to internal groups and budget owners in a meaningful manner with business context

  • Good business insight and understanding of the regulatory environment and financial management strategies and reporting requirements

  • Strong demonstrated competencies in interpersonal skills, oral and written communications, persuasion and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated initiative in developing and implementing innovative approaches and solutions that have operational and financial benefits

  • Familiarity and experience with the regulatory process including preparation of supporting evidence is considered an asset.

  • Reasonable degree of understanding of and familiarity with operational aspects of Enbridge Gas Distributions business to understand the business context around the financial management being provided is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
