Job Description:

About the role:

This role will report to the Director of Investment Operations, and partner with business and functional leaders within Portfolio Management, Product, Institutional etc.

The incumbent is expected to oversee and handle day-to-day ETF operations related activities for our newly formed ETF mandate, as well as assist the Investment Operations Support team.

What will you do?

  • The daily reconciliation, settlement, trade support and delivery of the PCF
  • Monitor corporate actions and decide on best course of action
  • Provide quality service and operations support for internal business partners and external clients
  • Perform moderately complex transaction processing and reconciliation with medium to large monetary impact
  • Respond to moderately complex client inquiries via numerous channels to support operational efficiency and quality client service
  • Proactively identify risk and opportunities for improvements based on an understanding of how the work impacts the team
  • Participate in operational related projects; other duties as requested by the manager

What do you need to succeed?

  • 1 to 3 years of Investment Operations experience
  • Degree in business, math, computer science, engineering or a related field
  • Familiarity with various financial asset classes (ETFs, equities, fixed income, mutual funds; FoF structures, derivatives)
  • Time management and organizational skills to set short-term priorities while working under strict deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve and use a commonsense approach
  • Proven interpersonal and relationship management skills and a demonstrated ability to focus on the details while considering the big picture
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative environment
  • Service minded and client oriented with strong negotiation and influencing skills

Preferred Skills:

  • CSC or equivalent knowledge an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in adding operational efficiencies and augmenting and enhancing existing processes
  • Experience building out data quality workflows, either internally or using 3rd party tools.
  • Technical Savvy in SQL, databases, ETL, are an asset
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Willingness to work additional hours as needed to support ETF and Systems operations

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
