Position: Resource Teacher

D.R. Hamilton is a Nursery to Grade 9 school with 137 students located in the community of Cross Lake. The community is 282 km by road southeast of Thompson. The community offers services such as grocery store, motel, restaurants, northern store, nursing station, community hall, recreation centre and a beach area.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree and preferably a Masters’ Degree in Education or related field
Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
Manitoba Special Education certificate or certification in progress
At least five years of teaching experience
Previous experience as a Resource Teacher
Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
Excellent understanding of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instruction
Knowledge and training in formal and informal assessment
Familiar with appropriate educational programming
Ability to complete provincial documentation requirements for appropriate educational programming
Ability to interpret educational and cognitive assessments
Willingness to be trained in intervention programs presently in place
A commitment to continue to support on-going programs in the school
Strong verbal and written communication skills
