About the role: 

As an HR Generalist, you will be at the heart of shaping an exceptional employee experience while driving key HR initiatives that support organizational success. In this dynamic role, you’ll have the opportunity to wear many hats—leading recruitment efforts to attract top talent, fostering employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations. Salary range:  The base salary is $70-75k, based on experience.

 

What will I do? 

  • Talent Acquisition (60%)
    • Manage full-cycle recruitment for various roles across the organization, from job posting to offer stage.
    • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective sourcing strategies.
    • Provide a consultative approach by developing strong relationships with both hiring managers and candidates
    • Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate interview schedules with internal teams.
    • Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates through proactive sourcing and networking.
    • Oversee social media platforms (e.g., Indeed, LinkedIn) and respond to reviews.
    • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience throughout the hiring process ensuring the process is seamless and engaging from start to finish.
    • Partner with employer branding and recruitment marketing efforts to effectively showcase the company's values, culture, and opportunities, attracting high potential talent.
    • Monitor, analyze, and report on hey hiring metrics to track recruitment success ensuring alignment with business goals.

 

  • General HR Project Support (40%)
    • Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Federal Contractors Program, Employer Recognition, Employee Engagement).
    • Support onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth new hire experience.
    • Assist in the administration and communication of HR policies and procedures.
    • Address employee inquiries, escalate issues as needed, and help create a positive workplace culture.
    • Support performance management and employee development processes.
    • Maintain HRIS data accuracy and ensure compliance with reporting requirements (e.g., AODA, Modern Slavery Act).

 

What experience do I need? 

  • Education: Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in an HR role, with a strong focus on recruitment.
  • Language Skills: Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
  • Technical Competencies:
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
    • Experience with Power BI/Power Pivot an asset
    • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP)
