Position Description:

We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 45 years, we're still growing! Join Canada's largest IT Company as a "Java Developer" in our Banking Services Division.

The "Java Developer" will be responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing the IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) environment. The role involves system administration, storage management, database optimization, automation, and troubleshooting of CMOD-related issues to ensure high availability and performance.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• IBM CMOD Administration - Manage CMOD instances, including setup, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Storage & Backup Management - Implement and manage Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM), Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), and tape storage solutions for CMOD archival.
• Database & Query Optimization - Optimize DB2/Oracle queries to improve document retrieval performance.
• Automation & Scripting - Develop UNIX Shell/Python/Java scripts for CMOD automation (e.g., indexing, archiving, retrieval process enhancements).
• Monitoring & Performance Tuning - Use Reveille, Splunk, Dynatrace, and other tools to monitor and improve CMOD performance.
• Security & Compliance - Manage LDAP integration, role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and audit logs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (SEC 17a-4, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Upgrades & Patch Management - Implement CMOD Fix Packs, version upgrades, and coordinate with IBM for issue resolution.
• Integration Support - Work with API-based integrations to connect CMOD with other enterprise platforms like IBM FileNet, OpenText, and Pega.
• Incident & Change Management - Follow ITIL best practices to resolve incidents, handle change requests, and improve CMOD system reliability.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Expert knowledge in UNIX/Linux administration (AIX, RedHat) and shell scripting for automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM CMOD architecture, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in DB2/Oracle database administration - SQL query tuning, stored procedures, backup & recovery.
• Familiarity with CMOD storage policies (TSM, SAN/NAS, HSM).
• Proficiency in Java/Python for automation and scripting.
• Experience with middleware tools (IBM WebSphere, JBoss).
• Familiarity with API integrations for CMOD (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML).
• Monitoring experience with Reveille, Splunk, Dynatrace.
• ITIL Framework knowledge - Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
Good to Have Skills:
• Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation - Understanding how CMOD integrates into modern cloud-native environments.
• Knowledge of AI/ML-driven document processing - Experience leveraging AI models for classification, indexing, and metadata extraction.
• Exposure to DevOps & CI/CD - Hands-on experience with Bitbucket, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes for automated deployments.
• Experience with IBM FileNet and OpenText ECM - Integration knowledge for large-scale content management ecosystems.
• Familiarity with IBM Cloud and AWS/GCP/Azure - Experience with cloud storage solutions for CMOD archiving.
