Power BI Developer

This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) 2-3 times per week - subject to change at any time.

We are seeking a talented and driven Power BI Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in building complex reports and dashboards, utilizing advanced features of Power BI to deliver data-driven insights. You will play a critical role in transforming raw data into meaningful visualizations that support business decision-making.

• Refactor existing reports into an interactive Power BI reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights.
• Utilize advanced Power BI features, including DAX calculations, measures, and complex data models to enhance report functionality.
• Connect to various data sources, including SQL databases, Excel files, and cloud services, ensuring seamless data integration.
• Optimize report performance through effective data modeling and efficient query techniques.
• Conduct data analysis and profiling to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Implement best practices for Power BI report design, ensuring usability and aesthetic appeal.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, including building complex reports and dashboards.
• Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for data modeling and calculations.
• Experience working with SQL for data extraction and manipulation, as well as familiarity with other data sources (e.g., Excel, APIs).
• Knowledge of data visualization best practices and user experience design principles.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with Power Query for data transformation and cleaning.
• Experience with Power BI Service, including publishing, sharing, and managing reports and dashboards.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Understanding of R or Python for advanced analytics and data manipulation is a plus.
• Familiarity with Azure services and cloud data solutions.
