Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band 3, $24.844 to $29.142 (5 step range)

Job Description: 
Provides coordination and administrative services for a department(s) and/or program(s). This position typically reports to a Director, Site Manager or Program Manager but may provide administrative support to physicians and other health professionals as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Office Education/Secretarial certificate plus completion of a Medical Terminology course (OR) Medical Office Assistant certificate 

Experience: One (1) year previous experience in an office environment.

Skills:

Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications.

Some Judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a limited number of alternatives.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in various stages of completion according to priorities.

Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Human relations skills required to empathize with complaints and/or concerns and establish rapport with patients, the public and other staff.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.

Creative ability in developing layouts for reports, presentations, information bulletins, etc.

Ability to work independently.

Maintain confidentiality.

Ability to operate all types of office equipment.

Ability to conduct literature searches for specified information.

Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people.
