Facility: Red Eagle Lodge - Senior Care Home

Shift Information: Days

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (7.5 hrs./day)

Salary or Pay Band: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

Job Description: The new Red Eagle Lodge - Senior Care Home is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Clinical Supervisor with an LPN designation, to lead the clinical services of the Senior Care Home, working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide culturally responsive health care services. The Clinical Supervisor will use his/her nursing skills, while providing a positive, professional company image with all internal and external contacts, maintaining confidentiality, discretion, tact, diplomacy, and flexibility in their daily work routine. Our residents deserve the best, so we are seeking someone to join our team who will work together to provide our residents with quality, value, and a clear choice of a safe, comfortable place to call home. 

  • Oversight of the of day-to-day operations of clinical services to ensure quality resident care. 
  • Provide support and mentorship to front line care staff. 
  • Assist in the development and on-going evaluation of standards, policies, and procedures with respect to the care services provided and the clinical team ensuring best practice and clinical standards are met. 
  • Participate in the Red Eagle Lodge - Senior Care Home strategic and operational planning. 
  • Assist in the recruitment process for the clinical team. 
  • Creates and maintains staff schedules • Apply principles of the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation) 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience 
  • Current CPR Level C 
  • Previous working experience in Community health, Long-term care or Home care would be an asset.

 

Education:

  • Current registration with the SALPN (Sask association of licensed practical nurses), in good standing 
  • Acceptable CPIC & Vulnerable Sector Check 
  • Awareness of cultural sensitivity and differences 

Licenses:

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license & driver’s abstract

Other Education and Training:

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally with community leaders and family members and key stakeholders to ensure quality of service delivery and to achieve positive health outcomes. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture. 
  • Knowledge of Policies and Procedures for Nursing, Infection Control, Fire and Disaster, Occupational Health and Safety, Privacy legislation and others as required and directed. 
  • Understanding of budgeting and financial management with the ability to seek and develop proposals for new funding sources and program opportunities. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Superior problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to delegate to staff while providing education 
  • ability to work effectively with others as well as independently 
  • ability to work under pressure
