Job Description: Under the support of the out-of-scope program manager, the Peer Support Mentor is accountable for providing the following education and training services in the SHA (Saskatoon): education and training coordination; program development, program implementation and delivery; mental health and addiction consultations; public presentations in addition to brief counseling and liaison activities. Arrange practicum placements for peer support workers and proctor the peer support certification exam for Accreditation Canada. The individual in this role will ensure that the services provided are consistent with current evidence-based practice and practice-based evidence in the areas of mental health and addictions, education and training and SHA (Saskatoon)'s philosophy, objectives and standards.

- Degree in Human Services
Other Education and Training
- Peer Support Accreditation Canada
- Degree in Education or equivalent also accepted
- Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) certificate

- Knowledge of Sask Model of Recovery Services and motivational assessment process
- Ability to deliver workshops and lecture material to clients.
- Knowledge of peer support as a discipline
- Ability to work with individuals from a variety of cultural & ethnic backgrounds
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and openness to working w/ diverse populations
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Demonstrated skill in maintaining files and records
- Knowledge of the education system, and integrated human service delivery systems
- Ability to align with the values of peer support incl. client self determination
- Apply ethical, culturally sensitive and legal principles in practice
