Successful candidate will be a Cooper employee, reporting to Branch Manager, working full-time on Glencore site at 1 Longyear Drive Garson, Ontario.
What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct scheduled mechanical maintenance and inspections for equipment such as man lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, floor sweepers, excavators, and skid steers and rail shunter.
- Co-ordinate sub-contractors to complete the requirements associated with annual inspections, including but not limited to NDT Technicians, emissions testing, wash bay attendants.
- Respond to unscheduled mobile maintenance (breakdowns) to start or repair vehicles and equipment that are disabled.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean work vehicle and work area as necessary to maintain a safe work environment.
- Follow all company and work-site policies and procedures, and governmental and equipment related safety requirements.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be a fully licensed Truck and Coach or Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic (310T or 421A license).
- Must participate in drug and alcohol testing required to enter the work site.
- Valid G driver’s license with clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience diagnosing and repairing various construction equipment such as man lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, floor sweepers, excavators, rail shunters and skid steers.
- Must be available to work on-call as needed.
- Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must have own tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
