Sr. Finance Analyst - Internal Reporting

The Opportunity: Your career will know no bounds when you join our professional, motivated, and fun-loving finance team in a Canadian based public company. As a member of the operating unit reporting team, you will report to the Manager, Finance - Reporting. You will play a key role supporting an operating unit with month-end, quarterly and annual close processes; creating monthly reporting and forecasting packages that explain operating results to Senior Management and assisting in preparing the annual budget. You will also have the opportunity to partner with people in the business, responding to accounting enquiries and participating in other projects as required. This will drive your understanding of the business, give you exposure to many people and aspects of the business and fuel your desire to continually improve both the business and your own development.

  • Responsible for the operating units month end process including journal entry processing into related systems and system interface validations relied on for financial statement preparation of a Canadian public company.
  • Partner with operating unit plant finance team to compile weekly forecasts, and report results for Senior Management. Ensure that these reports make sense and if not, question the information being given.
  • Be a team player and assist in the period/quarter/year-end close processes, including completion of select MCR schedules & quarter/year-end deliverables.
  • Manage the operating unit annual balance sheet and cash flow budget process which includes ensuring that all analysis and Senior Management presentation requirements are complete.
  • Key business point of contact for finance related queries and external auditor quarterly questionnaires.
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts.
  • Proactively recommend continuous improvement.
  • Perform ad hoc financial accounting analysis and participate or lead special projects, as required.
What Youll Bring:
  • Accounting Designation (CPA).
  • University degree in Finance/Accounting;
  • Possess a positive attitude and behave in a professional manner.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Detailed oriented with solid organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and be a dedicated team player.
  • Resilient and can work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • A manufacturing/CPG (production) background is an asset.
  • Experience with BPC, BA, and/or SAP is an asset.
