Substitute Educational Assistants
Medicine Hat Public School Division serves our current enrolment of over 7,000 students. Our Division offers a full spectrum of programs and services centered on students needs with sensitivity to community and parents needs. Our wide range of programs service children from 2½ years of age to Grade 12. The Division is comprised of three high schools, four middle schools (including one with a Christian Education focus and a virtual online school), 14 elementary schools (including a virtual online learning school, STEM centered learning school, arts centered learning school and a variety of Outreach Alternative Programs.
Ongoing, throughout the school year, we recruit for Substitute Educational Assistants to work on a casual on call basis throughout our Division. Applicants with previous experience and/or education from a recognized post-secondary institution are encouraged to apply.
Main duties include working with students with specialized medical, cognitive, or behavioural needs. Experience working with students with diverse needs surrounding complex communication, lifts and transfers, toileting, life skills, positive behaviour supports, and self-regulation strategies would be an asset. This position assists with the implementation and follow through of Medical and Behaviour Support Plans.
We will require all successful applicants to provide us with a police record check with vulnerable sector check, an intervention record check and also will have to have a physical demands assessment.

Throughout the school year, we recruit additional Educational Assistants to join the sub group so you may not hear back right away, but may be contacted throughout the school year.
