SUMMARY:
The refrigeration and energy advisor is responsible for the calculations, inspections, internal coordination, incentive request and site visit for energy projects. He will also design, review and optimize supermarket refrigeration systems and controls. Part of the Refrigeration and Mechanical Design team, he will collaborate closely with Construction, Procurement, and Maintenance departments.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Study and analyze energy usage, and find opportunities for the company to implement energy efficiency measures.
- Provide estimates for energy projects (energy savings, project costs and ROI).
- Assist Construction and Maintenance Teams in the development of energy projects (requirements and optimization standards) for various projects.
- Participate to the implementation and elaboration of energy savings projects in Ontario.
- Proceed with site visits to verify and the existing store conditions, to support the implementation and validate final results. Store visits and detailed reporting included in the process.
- Elaborate and submit incentive documentation, follow-up with the IESO (or else if applicable) on the requests.
- Design commercial supermarket refrigeration systems, which includes pipe sizing, comperssor sizing, heat reclaim strategies, refrigeration equipment selection and review of control equipments
- Collaborate with various construction teams and consultants on refrigeration mechanical design
- Support the engineering team in the completion of projects
- Complete all other tasks required upon manager's request
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College diploma or University studies (certificate)
- 3 – 5 years experience as an Engineer or Technologist
- Knowledge of commercial supermarket refrigeration
- Strong knowledge of Ontario energy market
- good knowledge on various available incentive programs
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and AutoCad
- Good communication and team skills
