Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. Reporting to Site Maintenance Leadership, the Serviceperson is responsible for supporting the maintenance of equipment by helping with required preventative maintenance services. They will also support with HVAC filters around site and will be required to complete extruding welding on HDPE Liner when needed.
Reporting to the Site Maintenance Supervisor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strong commitment and adherence to all Safety Policies and Procedures
- Maintenance and preventative maintenance of service and support equipment
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease repair times and streamline work processes
- Use of computer to input required info into SAP work orders, parts look up & lists, and submit work notifications
- Carry Out Safe, Timely and Effective Equipment Services and Inspections.
- The ability to identify and record equipment & component deficiencies
- Assist with other maintenance activities as required
- Demonstrate continuous improvement to enhance operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
- Mentoring of new and less experienced individuals within the Site Services department
- Other duties as required.
Requirements for the role include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate high level of commitment to safety.
- Team player that works well with others.
- Experience performing PM servicing on support equipment (light plants, pumps, generators, frost fighters, etc.)
- Experience performing PM servicing on AC and HVAC systems (CFC certification is preferred)
- Experience with welding plastic pipe and containment lining material (familiar with the use of Demtech Pro-X Extrusion Welder and various Hot Lister machines)
- Proficient in operating various pieces of support equipment including: Telehandlers, Skid Steers, Forklifts, Loaders
- Fixed plant and mobile mechanical knowledge considered an asset
- Be comfortable working in confined spaces or at heights
- Must have a valid drivers licence

The expected salary range for this role is CA$44.13/hour . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
