Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. Your Impact

As the Geologist Supervisor at Newmont’s Red Chris Mine, you will play a key role in delivering geological excellence that supports safe and efficient open pit operations. Your work will directly impact ore control, grade quality, and the advancement of mining operations in a world-class copper-gold porphyry deposit.

As Part of Our Team, You Will
  • Lead and oversee production geology and grade control programs.

  • Interpret and update geological models and support mine planning.

  • Mentor and guide geologists and geology technicians on-site.

  • Contribute to a strong safety culture and uphold health & safety standards.

  • Collaborate across departments to deliver reliable geological data and insights.

  • Maintain high standards in QA/QC, sampling, logging, and data integrity.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • BSc in Geology, Earth Sciences, or Geological/Geotechnical Engineering.

  • 7-10 years' experience in open pit or combination of open pit & underground mining geology.

  • Registered or eligible for registration as P.Geo./P.Eng. in BC.

  • Experience in porphyry copper-gold systems, with strong structural or geochemical interpretation skills.

  • Proficiency in software like Vulcan, Deswik, or MineSight; Acquire and SAP are assets.

  • Proven safety leadership and ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Your Work Environment
  • Location: Red Chris Mine, rotational fly-in/fly-out schedule.

  • Camp-based role with designated marshalling points across BC and Calgary.

  • Collaborative team culture that values inclusion, performance, and continuous improvement.

  • Work on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation, with strong ties to community engagement.
