Description
The opportunity
To analyze, design, develop, and support software solutions required by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan to meet its business objectives. To contribute business and technical knowledge to relatively complex IT projects.
Who you'll work with
You will be joining a team of passion and experienced application developers who work closely with business team, build and support solutions for supporting OTPP Investment plan.
What you'll do
With code/design reviews by senior staff, responsible for the timely completion of high quality, well designed and well architected systems that make appropriate use of technology.
Responsible for completion of an acceptable volume of work and for the communication of status of personal work plans and tasks required to design, develop, and test assigned portion of projects.
Responsible for maintaining currency in technological trends and directions continually upgrading personal technical and IT related skills through research, education, and self‑motivated technology experimentation.
Participate in new technology investigation and make recommendations for new technology adoption where appropriate
Collaborate with business partner, understand business use case, propose technical solution support business needs.
As directed, lead technical projects and act as mentor to junior development staff
What you'll need
Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent working experience
Minimum 5 years software design/development experience
Sound knowledge of current information systems theories, concepts, and techniques
Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Proven experience on developing real time application processing large amount of data
Minimum 5 years of experience using current software development techniques, including
Multi-threading, Multi-process programming
Python
.NET (C#)
Relational database (i.e Oracle)
Web Development (i.e. Angular, NgRx, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, WebAPI/REST)
Experience in the following technologies will be considered as an asset
CI/CD tools (i.e. CloudBees, Jenkins, UrbanCode)
Cloud development (AKS, Azure Storage, AAD etc.)
Strong interest in the financial industry required. Ability to dive into complex business domain.
Excellent communication/customer service skills required for interactions with people of varying levels of technical expertise
