Developmental Disability and Autism Summer Learning Program Teachers

  • Crystal Bay Centre for Special Education, 31 Moodie Drive, Nepean, ON K2H 8G1
  • Robert Bateman Public School, 1250 Blohm Dr, Ottawa, ON K1G 5R8

Program Description based on location

  • Clifford Bowey Public School and Crystal Bay Centre for Special Education: This program is for students who are presently attending the Crystal Bay Centre for Special Education, Clifford Bowey Public School, or semi-integrated programs for students with developmental disabilities. The goal of this program is to maintain the academic, language, communication, social and life skills of the students. Field trips, swimming outings,and excursions within the local community will be incorporated into the program.
  • Robert Bateman Public School: This program is for students who are presently attending the Autism Program or Semi-Integrated Program for students with developmental disabilities. The goal of this program is to maintain the academic, language, communication, social and life skills of the students. Field trips, swimming outings, and excursions within the local community will be incorporated into the program.



About the Role

Title: Developmental Disability and Autism Summer Learning Program Teacher

Positions available: Multiple

Locations:

  • Clifford Bowey Public School, 1300 Kitchener Ave, Ottawa, ON K1V 6W2 (DD)
  • Crystal Bay Centre for Special Education, 31 Moodie Drive, Nepean, ON K2H 8G1 (DD)
  • Robert Bateman Public School, 1250 Blohm Dr, Ottawa, ON K1G 5R8 (ASD)

Summer Term includes:

  • Staff Orientation: Wednesday July 2, 2025 ; half day
  • Classes: July 3, 2025 to July 24, 2025(8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily)

Salary per session: $50.78/hr + 4% Vacation pay

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Site Administrator.
  • Attend meetings to plan and organize the summer program.
  • Implement the instructional program.
  • Carry out other related duties as required.



Applicant Eligibility

Applications will be accepted from all Internal and External Elementary And Secondary Teachers



Required Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Teaching Certificate with Basic Qualifications at the Primary/Junior/Intermediate level or at least in two of these divisions.
  • Special Education Part I



Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional Special Education qualifications with experience preferred.
  • Current First aid / CPR Certificates
  • Current Crisis Intervention Training (BMS or NVCI)
  • Sign Language
