The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. We are seeking a creative, dynamic, and committed professional

to join our team as:

Feeding Assistant, Casual

$17.20 per hour

Hours of Work: 10:45 am to 12:45 pm, Monday to Friday

Duties:

-supporting students achieve independent eating skills/habits

-assisting with eating (I.e. hand over hand support)

-dressing or undressing assistance for outdoor play after lunch

-setting up a child for a successful eating opportunity by providing food in an appropriate order that meets the student needs

Qualifications

Feeding Assistants require the ability to act quickly to emergencies and must possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Breakfast monitors must be able to use tact, diplomacy and discretion in interactions within the school community.

First Aid and Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training would be assets.

Additional Comments:

As a condition of employment, all new employees will be required to submit a Police Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector that was completed within the last six (6) months. All newly hired employees will be required to complete Ministry mandated training and Health and Safety training prior to their start date with the OCDSB.
