We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed professional to join our team:

Network Analyst

100% Regular

Monday - Friday, 35 Hours per week

ESP Level 7: $56,339 to $71,085 per annum

Under the general direction of the Team Lead of Network Infrastructure Services, and working directly with the Senior Network Analysts, the Network Analyst is responsible for preliminary design, configuration, installation, security, support and troubleshooting of data centre and distributed network equipment at all OCDSB locations. The type and scope of projects, along with the actual day-to-day tasks will vary as needs change to maintain and support user connectivity and access to all systems and data. This position will also work closely with a wide range of clients (i.e. Contractors, System Programmers, various OCDSB departments, etc.) to evaluate, design and troubleshoot a variety of systems.

Due to the increasing expectation by all users that the computer systems of the OCDSB are accessible at any time, shift work may be necessary.

Qualifications

Community College Diploma in Computer Technology and 3 years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

In depth understanding of the OSI Model, and IEEE standards referencing cabling and network protocols;

Up-to-date knowledge of network hardware, security, wireless networking, software and scripting

Technical skills for providing service/assistance and training to users on the network, server and/or application functions;

Written communications skills for structured network documentation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to exchange and clarify complex information

Organization and time management skills required for prioritizing work/projects and managing multiple priorities and concurrent demands.

Analytical and troubleshooting skills required to identify and solve networking, server, cabling, and computer software/hardware problems.

Initiative and judgment skills required for making decisions and determining corrective/appropriate actions and for troubleshooting.

Research skills required for locating resources and information, to review vendor documentation, and to conduct internet searches and evaluate software.

Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures;

Access to reliable transportation for travel to OCDSB sites.

from Regular full-time and part-time employees within ESP bargaining unit are

given first consideration. (Internal Posting)

2. Applications

from term and casual employees within ESP bargaining unit are given 2nd consideration. (External Posting)

3. Applications

from External candidates (including Board employees that do not belong to this

bargaining unit) will be considered only if applications from 1 & 2 have

been exhausted.
