Ready to put your Airport Construction Management expertise to work? Parsons is now hiring an experienced Construction Manager with the following skills sets below.

The Construction Manager will work on behalf of Parsons and the client with responsibilities including:

  • Acts as the representative of Parsons with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers during the project.
  • Must show demonstrated experience in managing work in and around an active airport, including maintaining airport operations during construction so as to not hinder passenger movements or airline operations.
  • Works proactively with the CMAR/contractor to identify construction interfaces, risks and the mitigation of threat during construction to the project.
  • Must be able to show examples of seeking to bring resolution to issues as they arise in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of vertical construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction codes and standards.
  • The ability to build a strong working relationship with the airport authorities.
  • Maintains oversight and alertness to potential problem areas and recommends or takes preventive action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project.
  • Prepares periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for higher-level management and/or client review.
  • Maintains strong client and community relations to promote project, assist in meeting sustainability requirements and coordination with adjacent or interfacing projects.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices.
  • Ability to both collaboratively accomplish key Project goals and solve project challenges.
  • Ability to lead a group of construction inspectors and other construction administration support personnel.
  • Takes a leadership role in all aspects of workplace Health, Safety and Security, adopting a personal, behavioral demonstration of safe working culture.
  • Manages all on-site field construction activities associated with the completion of a project.
  • Applies a comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to be used during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized for installation.
  • Evaluate the overall planning of construction activities in the Program and Individual Projects to identify critical milestones and priorities.
  • Excellent people management skills and ability to converse and communicate with all levels of staff.
  • Highly numerate and able to interpret and utilize schedule information, performance metrics, and financial data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience) is preferred, and typically 12+ years of experience in field construction is required.
  • Experience in vertical construction at a commercial airport is preferred.
