Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a senior tunnel/shaft inspector with a EPB tunneling, and geotechnical background to work on a large sewage system project. The successful candidate will conduct daily inspections to determine contract adherence and conformance with contract specifications. She/he will carry out their responsibilities at the project site in Vaughan including:
- Perform construction inspection assignments or site visits of on-going tunnel and shaft construction work and related activities.
- Provide supervision/mentoring to the other inspectors
- Maintain diaries and photographs to document daily construction activities
- Assist in invoicing and claims management
- Be familiar and be able to monitor the contractor work for compliance with contract specifications, safety and environmental legislation
- Monitor and enforce punch list completion and resolve all open items in a timely matter
A combination of the following education experience is required:
- Experience in underground construction including Support of Excavation and EPB TBM operations.
- Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, and/or combination of related experience along with 10+ years of experience in QA/QC inspection of TBM tunneling with precast concrete segmental lining
- PEO registered, or OACETT registered Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi)
- Knowledge and experience with CSA A23.1/A23.3/A23.4/G-30.18-09/W47.1/ and other relevant specifications.
- Ability and desire to work at project site on a 24/7 schedule
