Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Water Treatment Superintendent to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee water treatment operations at the Faro Mine Remediation Site.

This position is site based in Faro, YT and will require a fly-in/fly-out rotation.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Operation of water treatment facilities at the three plants as well as the various satellite pumping systems
  • Manage Water Treatment operations manpower
  • Manage support equipment including pumps and piping
  • Complete timely and accurate daily records of plant and pumping performance
  • Conduct daily site inspection and record observations.
  • Notify Management of any issues relating to the water treatment process, pumps and pipelines
  • Maintain compliance with site EHS requirements, promptly report any incidents, complete all required training neat and clean
  • Resourcing through subcontractors where
  • Ensuring that the necessary resources are identified, made available and brought to bear in a timely manner.
  • Managing within the project budget to ensure maximum value to Canada for expenditures.
  • Monitoring project and Team member performance
  • Ensuring that the Construction Management Team receives all the information and support it needs to provide any necessary direction to the various sub-contractors
  • Assisting Canada and the Faro Mine Remediation Team to fulfill their responsibilities with respect to the Project.
  • To support the Maintenance Team with planned maintenance activities on water treatment facilities
  • To manage general waste materials produced, and the associated disposal areas used by Care and Maintenance operations on site in accordance with the applicable jurisdictional legislation for waste disposal, special waste guidelines and transportation of dangerous goods.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Water Treatment Operator Level III Minimum certification or equivalent
  • 10 Years minimum of industrial or mine water treatment experience Demonstrated management experience of pumping/conveyance and lime treatment operations for large scale contaminated water management programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating crews more than 25 including operators, and administrative staff.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

  • Knowledge of Canadian OHS Code, Territorial and Municipal Building codes
  • Ability to lift 20 kg.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Computer Skills -Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Proven understanding of safe work practices and mitigating risk
