Worksite: G.W. Graham Secondary School

Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Assignment Area(s): English First Peoples Literature and Writing 11, Literature Studies 10, and Leadership 9-12

Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Effective Date: Immediately until not later than November 3, 2024 (or return of teacher)

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:

• extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment

• knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education’s current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment

• demonstrated competence and experience in teaching English First Peoples Literary Studies and Writing 11, Literature Studies 10, and Leadership 9 - 12

• demonstrated ability to recognize individual students’ differences and effectively differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the learning needs of all students in a diverse classroom for all subjects in this assignment

• knowledge of, and willingness to practice, all elements of the new reporting order, including using descriptive feedback for assessing and communicating student progress and learning

• demonstrated ability to motivate and provide success for students who experience difficulties with learning and require additional support through student services

• demonstrated ability to recognize, acknowledge, and plan for individual student differences and to adjust instructional practices accordingly

• demonstrated experience in reading, contributing to, and fulfillment of Competency-Based Individual Education Plans

• demonstrated experience with the UDL framework planning for access points and success for all learners

• demonstrated experience with the RTI framework to support student learning

• demonstrated experience and continued commitment to honoring First Peoples Principles of Learning and the Indigenization of curriculum

• ability to design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessment practices to measure and monitor student progress effectively

• ability to use assessment practices that are well connected to curricular competencies for improving student learning and reflection

• demonstrated ability and energy to use a variety of instructional strategies to teach secondary students

• demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills

• demonstrated ability to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach

• demonstrated commitment to use technology for teaching and to communicate consistently and effectively with parents and students
