The Dispatch Team Lead is a highly dynamic role that requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and interpersonal skills. This includes the ability to manage operations efficiently while maintaining compliance, provide strong customer service, and lead their team through change. The Dispatch Team Lead directly oversees the daily activities of dispatch staff, including managing work assignments and ensuring relevant timelines are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure all team members understand and follow established processes and best practices to maintain efficiency and accuracy.

Identifies inefficiencies and areas for operational improvement via regularly analyzing absence data and dispatch metrics.

Identifies and resolves technical issues related to the dispatch system, including troubleshooting and coordinating with the vendor to address system issues.

Promotes and drives proactive change and supports the team to adapt to new procedures or technologies while maintaining high levels of productivity.

Manages absence data and ensures dispatch processes are compliant with collective agreements, district policies and relevant legislation.

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12, plus additional post secondary courses in computers, statistical analysis and methodology leading to a degree, certificate, or diploma in computer science, business or a related field, or equivalent. Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, is essential for analyzing absence and dispatch metrics. Experience with Power Apps is preferred for automating workflows, improving data management, and streamlining dispatch processes, allowing for more efficient team operations.

Two years recent experience working with a scheduling, attendance and dispatch system in a high volume, customer service support position (such as a helpdesk or call centre). A minimum one year of experience supervising staff and system troubleshooting experience is required.

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff across all levels of the district.

Strong customer service skills and ability to address complaints in a calm and professional manner

Problem solver with strong analytical skills, demonstrating sound judgment and discretion.

Strong decision-making abilities, particularly when addressing sensitive or complex issues.

Ability to effectively communicate with team members and provide support through transitions.

Demonstrates initiative and commitment to proactively identifying and addressing issues and opportunities.

Ability to quickly assess problems and implement solutions.

Well organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.

Maintain a calm, focused approach.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

This is a unionized position that offers an hourly wage rate of $34.90 per hour plus a liberal benefit package including pension, health, vacation, and sick benefits.
