We invite applications for the position of: Temporary Plumber/Heating Mechanic, 40 hours per week. The current rate of pay is $35.69 plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits.Please note this temporary assignment will end on August 31, 2025 or upon return of the incumbent(s). Two vacancies are anticipated Qualifications: Grade 12 education supplemented by completion of the British Columbia Technical Qualification in Plumbing; valid B.C. Provincial Gas Fitter's 'B' ticket or better; three years current experience as a skilled tradesperson at the senior level, with a demonstrated high level of technical competency; competent in the use of all hand and power tools required for the trade; ability to operate mechanical and electrical test equipment; ability to layout, assign, and check the work of assistants performing skilled and semiskilled tasks; ability to read blueprints; ability to perform a variety of skilled tasks in the construction, repair and maintenance of school physical plants and equipment; valid Class 5 B.C. driver's license and license appropriate to the type of equipment/vehicle being operated; meets the physical requirements of the position; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Duties/Responsibilities: Duties are performed under the supervision of the Manager of Operations or designate; normally receives general instructions only, which requires the exercise of sound judgement as to the method of performing the work; works on a wide range of plumbing, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems; assists in all aspects of maintaining district facilities, and to this end is expected to maintain a good working relationship with other employees; may be required to provide leadership to other maintenance employees; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
