Position Title: Sourcing Analyst

Line of business: Procurement - Marketing Media, Digital Marketing, Promotions and Sponsorship

Est. Start Date: Dec 20

Duration/end date: 12 months

Possibility of Extension: Yes, as this is for maternity leave there is a possibility this will run longer

Possibility of conversion to FTE: Yes, if FT position opens up we would convert over

Working hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, 37.5 hours weekly

Hybrid work requirements: Hybrid (2 days in DT Toronto office weekly) - GTA-based candidates only as commute will be required


Role Mandate: This group supports the implementation and ongoing delivery of projects for a Sourcing operations environment that provides a consistent and exceptional stakeholder experience, enforces internal / external control standards and minimizes risk. Analyzes data and creates documents and plans in service of informing, advising, or updating stakeholders.

The team oversees the contracts for Bank’s marketing vendors providing media, digital, promotions and sponsorship services to the Bank. Current project work is approx. 60% contract renewal and 40% net new contracts (new vendors, negotiations). There are roughly 15-20 projects in flight at any given time, each with different start and end dates.


Must Have Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in Vendor sourcing/ managing vendor contractors (creating and negotiating)/ supply chain and/or procurement work experience

• Knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices and standards across the project lifecycle

• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement systems and applications.

Excel and spreadsheet analysis


Nice to Have Skills:

• Marketing background (media, digital, promotions, sponsorships)

• Competitive vendor sourcing experience

• Knowledge of relevant risk and regulatory requirements

• Knowledge of Sourcing in Financial Services or Technology industries

• Financial Services, Financial or Cost Management experience

• Technically inclined


Team Structure: The team consists of 14 members who work closely together and with category managers in a collaborative nature. The selected candidate will have ample opportunity to work with the current individual in this role leading up her to leave time.


Role Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.

• Prepares preliminary Project Opportunity Strategies/ Deal Summaries

• Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.

• Conducts analysis and develops insights and recommendations that are actionable in alignment with project/program goals.

• Conducts market research and benchmarking activities

• Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.

• Coordinates and executes specific activities for the implementation of strategic initiatives; includes tracking metrics and milestones.

• Perform spend analysis utilizing Spotfire dashboards as required

• Prepare Data for customized reports for Middle Office Management

• Identifies areas of opportunity through analyses of industries and supply markets, cost models for products and services, supplier category spend, and the performance of key suppliers in the market.

• Incorporates market leading process and practices, to mitigate risk, to drive innovation and to maximize overall value for assigned sourcing categories and portfolios.

• Prepares project plans and keeps key stakeholders informed of the process and progress.

• Manage multiple programs/projects simultaneously and resolve conflicting priorities and objectives.

• Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.

• Maintains knowledge of leading sourcing practices and promote adoption of sourcing standards.

• Organizes work information to ensure accuracy and completeness

• Continuously upgrade knowledge on event and sourcing methodologies with a specific focus on strategic category development.

• Effectively communicate key messages/recommendations/results to all managerial levels.

• Provides input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.

• Focus may be on a business/group.

• Thinks creatively and proposes new solutions.

• Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

• Works mostly independently.
