Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a Data Repository (Data Warehouse / Data Lake) and a Ministry Reporting Central Data Warehouse project.


Initially a 6-months contract to start with possibilities of additional renewals. Hybrid model in Vancouver 2 days/week on-site (Thursdays included). 35 hours/week.


Must Have:

  • Experience with system architecture and data flow design for data warehouses.
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, including ETL, data conversion, and optimization for reporting.
  • Strong technical expertise with Oracle DB, and both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience advising on reporting tools and strategies for compliance reporting.
  • Ability to define integrations with Workday; work involves reading Workday objects for data extraction.
  • Ability to design and support intelligence reporting and multi-source data querying.
  • Experience in entity relationship modeling, data denormalization, and query optimization.
  • able to be onsite in Vancouver 2 days per week.


Responsibilities:

  • This role supports the planning of a scalable, efficient, and compliant data repository and reporting infrastructure. You’ll focus on data architecture, integration, and governance.
  • Support the design and document end-to-end data architecture, including data flows and integration patterns for warehousing and reporting.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to define and optimize data warehouse structures, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Provide advisory on ETL strategy, data reporting tools, and data storage optimization.
  • Analyze and define integrations with Workday, focusing on data extraction using Workday's unique object model and APIs.
  • Lead data conversion efforts for migration or transformation projects.
  • Understand and implement entity relationship models, data denormalization, and other data modeling best practices.
  • Support intelligence reporting by designing efficient data retrieval methods and integrating disparate data sources.
  • Ensure solutions align with compliance and governance standards for secure and accurate reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize complex queries and data flows across multiple data environments.
