Senior Business Analyst to support design and/or update of workflow and process strategies for a crown corporation client

Our valued crown corporation client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to gather business requirements and produce key business artifacts for a major banking operations portfolio!

Initial 1 year contract with possibility of extension to a maximum term of 3 years total. Hybrid: 8 days/month of on-site work required in downtown Ottawa, ON.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify goals, best practices, and other active methods for gathering and analyzing their data to identify process performance areas
• Identify and establish the scope and parameters of requirements analysis to define impact, outcome criteria, and metrics
• Prepare storytelling narratives in activities such as developing a business case, building requirements, writing user stories and use cases.
• Assist with the implementation of revised company processes and workflows.
• Assist in the design and/or update of workflow and process strategies to improve business performance and monitor the efficacy of the new and updated workflows
• Assist with creating and presenting process reports for client approval, while overseeing the implementation of revised internal processes and workflows
• Assist with the development of test plans and scripts

Must Have Skills:

• 8+ years of demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst with strongly demonstrated experience with business process / value stream mapping
• Proficient in the use of ServiceNow ITSM modules and reporting
• Demonstrated analytical experience with Microsoft’s suite of tools including Visio, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Proficient in the use of Atlassian Jira
• Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels of an organization, along with the ability to write user guides, manuals, and technical knowledge articles

Nice-to-have Skills:

• International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation
• Demonstrated experience with Value Stream mapping
• Demonstrated knowledge of Design Thinking process
