Description
Our valued Public Sector client requires a Senior Project Manager to join a mature ePMO and provide strategic leadership and oversight using MSP, PMP, or PRINCE2 principles for various departmental projects/initiatives.
Must Have:
- Extensive (10+ years) of experience working/participating in independent reviews of programmes and projects
- Valid MSP or PMP certification
- Valid enhanced reliability clearance
Tasks Include, but are not Limited to:
- Adhere to the formal structure for conducting assurance activities. This includes the set of standards, methodologies, and criteria for evaluating the health and progress of projects/programmes. The framework outlines how assurance is conducted and provides tools programmes and aligns them with organizational objectives;
- Engage directly with the senior responsible owners to commission, plan and deliver the assurance review while keeping the Director, and Assurance informed;
- Lead and conduct assurance reviews at checkpoints or on an ad hoc basis to track the progress of the project/programme against its initial plan. This includes assessing whether key milestones are being met, whether the scope, cost, and time are on track, and if risks are being well managed;
- Determine documentation needed for the assurance review in line with the current stage of the programme or project. Review project and programmes documentation to extract relevant information to the assurance review process;
- Produce high quality assurance reviews reports highlighting the assessment of the delivery confidence based on the review of key aspects of the initiative such as governance, scope and schedule analysis, resources management, financial management, change management, benefit management etc. Identify and recognize good practice within each project/programme and draw attention to areas that require improvement;
- Comment upon ongoing compliance with organizational requirements associated with financial, procurement and governance considerations, to name a few;
- Produce delivery confidence assessment and key recommendations to improve successful deliverability of the project/programme that are clear, meaningful, supportive, and implementable. Provide project sponsors, executives, and managers with insights and recommendations based on data and evidence collected through assurance activities. Provide assurance related project and programme briefings to senior management on major results and findings, including preparation of presentations to explain the implications of said results.
- Present assurance reviews findings to various forums such as governance committees, project/programme boards;
