APPLIED BEHAVIOUR ANALYSIS SUPPORT WORKER

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Applied Behaviour Analysis Support Worker. Reporting to the Principal of Special Education and Senior Psychologist/Manager of Clinical Services, the successful candidate will provide direct applied behaviour analysis and related services to students in school and community settings, including participation in planning sessions, implementing program plans, conducting and writing functional behavioural assessments (FBA), monitoring progress and changing objectives as needed.

Daily - 7 hours per day.

This position will be paid an additional $2442.10 in compensation per year. This position will include regular contact with the Principal(s) of Special Education.

Salary Range: $28.19 - $32.97 per hour in accordance with the OPSEU Collective Agreement

Qualifications:

Required

Minimum two year college diploma in Child and Youth Worker, Development Service Worker, Educational Assistant or Social Service Worker OR a University degree in Behaviour Science in particular those who have a specialty in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Child Studies, Education, Psychology, Social Work or Sociology;

Two (2) years related experience working with children and youth who have high special education needs, in particular those who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Preferred:

Completion of a one (1) year post-graduate program in Autism and Behavioural Sciences; or

Completion of a three (3) year program in Behavioural Science Technology; or

Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) qualifications.

Pertinent Skills and Experience:

Excellent interpersonal, organization, and coordinating skills;

Good oral and written communication skills;

Ability to use software tools to record and display behaviour data;

Ability to deliver professional development using a variety of media;

Conduct functional behaviour assessments and interpret the results of the data;

As a member of the Complex Needs Team, design and write ABA programs;

Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team with field and school staff, colleagues, teachers, service professionals, to support students;

Reliable transportation required;

The nature of this position will require travel within the Board; mileage reimbursement at the Board approved rate.

University degree holders must also attach transcripts showing related courses.
