Program Overview

  • Rotate every 24 to 36 months through a variety of actuarial roles such as Pricing, Valuation, Experience Analytics, Risk Management, Asset Liability Management, Corporate Oversight and so much more.
  • Formal support through your FSA/FCIA journey, including paid study time off, financial support for modules, exams, study materials and textbooks.
  • Increasing level of responsibility and compensation in conjunction with work performance and successful progression through the actuarial exams.
  • Membership into the largest actuarial community in Canada with access to exclusive actuarial social events.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Help design and price insurance and annuity products.
  • Play a key role in establishing actuarial assumptions, quantifying reserves, and meeting regulatory and capital requirements.
  • Provide analysis and sound advice to business partners to help meet our strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with management to identify risks and opportunities while taking initiatives to improve the business performance.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing analysis of procedures and actuarial methodologies. Develop better insights and processes by leveraging the latest technology.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Working towards a University degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Possessing relevant actuarial experience and demonstrating a strong commitment towards FSA/FCIA designations (e.g. passing at least one SOA exam) are considered assets.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Solution-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter and team player with a high level of initiative and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel is required. Experience with AXIS or other actuarial software is an asset.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Waterloo, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$52,010.00 CAD - $96,590.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
