As a Personal Mortgage Consultant (PMC) for Mortgage Brokers you will be responsible for growing our Mortgage Broker channel through the promotion and education of our Manulife Bank solutions. This will involve managing and deepening existing mortgage broker relationships and prospecting for new ones. You will continually grow positive relationships through targeted call campaigns, virtual meetings and professional telephone and email sales activity. Your depth of underwriting knowledge will allow you to offer guidance and support to the broker on how to best position and package mortgage deals for submission.

Position Responsibilities:

Education: (60%)

  • Present our selling strategy to mortgage brokers via sales education series.

  • Collaborate with BDMs to select candidates for the program.

  • Conduct knowledge checks to achieve mastery.

  • Develop and host virtual meetings for brokers.

File Management: (20%)

  • Support brokers from pre-application to funding.

  • Assist National Desks in soliciting mortgage deals.

  • Manage funding ratios with broker portfolios.

  • Process referred and existing broker deals.

Relationship Management: (10%)

  • Transition brokers to external BDMs upon meeting targets.

  • Reassign brokers below thresholds to internal support.

  • Analyze brokers for potential termination based on performance.

  • Build relationships with key partners to support broker requests.

Sales Planning: (10%)

  • Organize tasks to meet productivity goals and support brokers.

  • Use technology to improve efficiency in your territory and team.

Required Qualifications:

  • College or University degree in a related field

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the banking and mortgage brokerage industry

  • Strong understanding of mortgage underwriting

  • Experience conducting virtual meetings and presentations

  • Experience with Salesforce.com is preferred

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including intermediate level of expertise using Excel

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
