Soluroc is a fast-growing manufacturing company (with 5 sites and over 200 team members) based in Quebec, with international customers and manufacturing units in Quebec and Ontario. Role objectives:
The People and Culture Business Partner will act as a strategic and operational partner, supporting Ontario site managers in managing growth, developing their teams, managing talent and performance, and creating a healthy, inclusive and motivating work environment. This role goes beyond traditional HR processes and maintaining compliance, it contributes to building a humane, collaborative and high-performance organization culture. By being present on the ground, listening to operational issues, he/she will be a true actor of positive change.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic support to operations
- Contribute to the achievement of operational objectives through effective HR solutions.
- Participate in local HR strategy: organizational development, change management, culture.
- Advise managers on talent management, engagement, workforce planning and management practices.
Coaching managers
- Advise leaders on the application of best HR practices.
- Develop managerial skills in proximity (coaching, feedback, management of complex human situations).
- Provide day-to-day support on people-related issues: communication, commitment, social climate, conflict management.
Employee experience & human culture
- Guarantee team member experience throughout the career path (induction, integration, development, recognition).
- Lead or support well-being, recognition, inclusion and mobilization initiatives.
- Propose concrete actions to reinforce the corporate culture at each site
Field presence
- Be regularly present on sites to support teams, understand operational realities and maintain a strong link with the field.
- Proactively identify human issues to be addressed.
Labour relations & legal and compliance management
- Manage labour relations (non-unionized).
- Ensure compliance with Ontario laws (Labour Code).
- Collaborate on internal investigations, disciplinary processes and performance appraisals
- Support the Health and Safety function by ensuring legal compliance and management of administrative files.
Support HR projects
- Participate or lead cross-functional HR projects: HR digitization - HRIS integration, improvement of HR processes and programs such as performance management, recognition, total rewards, talent management, etc.
- Identify levers for continuous improvement in local HR practices
Talent development
- Support local recruitment
- Monitor training needs, individual development plans and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of performance and continuous improvement
What you need to come to work:
- Be an agent of change, with strong interpersonal, listening and influencing skills
- Human, proactive and collaborative approach
- Rigor, structure and good priority management
- Curiosity and creativity, able to propose innovative solutions
- Ability to fully understand the vision and strategic issues and translate them into concrete actions on the ground
- Good command of HR / HRIS tools
What you need to know
- Travel to our 2 sites in Ontario (Cobourg & Sudbury) and occasionally to Quebec
- Bilingualism an asset
- At least 5 to 7 years' experience in human resources
- Knowledge of Ontario legislation.
