Position Overview

 

 

 

Reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing, the Manager supports the development and implementation of marketing and content initiatives that generate brand awareness, drive engagement and support the Foundation’s overall fundraising and stewardship goals. The role requires the Manager to demonstrate an understanding for and embrace the organization’s mission. This individual enjoys finding innovative ways to build Sunnybrook’s brand, is results driven and generates ideas to achieve goals.

 

This role works closely with colleagues across the Foundation and with peers on the Hospital’s Strategic Communications team to build and generate support for Sunnybrook.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Supports the development of the annual marketing plan in conjunction with the Associate Director, Marketing with a focus on brand and content initiatives that support the organization’s business goals
  • Responsible for managing the strategic, tactical and creative development of integrated brand campaigns including, project management, budget management, production and campaign reporting/analysis in conjunction with our agency partners with support from  the Marketing Coordinator
  • Leads an integrated working group of Foundation and Hospital colleagues to enculturate the brand positioning across the organization and acts as the Foundation’s resource for brand guidelines and standards
  • Leads the Foundation’s integrated content strategy and tactical plans to support powerful storytelling that will be syndicated across multi-channels including email, website, events, social media and advertising and oversees the content development and execution
  • Leads sourcing of stories and content for Foundation channels in conjunction with Senior Content Specialist. Briefs writers and creative partners and oversees creative, photography and video development and production
  • Leads project management and implementation of marketing initiatives and cross-functional programs that help build brand engagement such as the Virtual Impact Series, Your Health Matters (YHM) e-newsletter and donor recognition campaigns
  • Develops posts for Foundation social media channels and liaises with the Hospital social team to amplify donor impact on Sunnybrook channels
  • Manages and develops strong and effective relationships with marketing vendors and internal partners and stakeholders
  • Oversees, coaches and mentors up to two direct reports, Senior Content Specialist and Marketing Coordinator
  • Is a proactive, committed member of the Marketing team bringing fresh ideas to the table, troubleshooting issues to find solutions, and supporting team members with a positive “can do” attitude
  • Supports broad Marketing team portfolios during burst integrated and digital campaigns such as signature events, fundraising priorities, email marketing campaigns and paid media programs
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues across the organization and the Hospital on marketing and communications initiatives

 

Skills and Abilities

 

  • Experience planning and implementing fully integrated brand/marketing campaigns including website, advertising, social media, public relations (PR), events, and custom content
  • Strategic thinker with a growth mindset to build and lead the successful execution of complex fully integrated marketing and content initiatives
  • Detailed project management skills with deep experience managing projects with multiple partners and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with broadcast, print, Out of Home (OOH) and digital production processes
  • Strong digital marketing experience including use of Salesforce Marketing Cloud as well as email and SMS marketing platforms
  • Comfortable working with data, data teams, and developing data-informed insights to help deliver on Marketing goals
  • Confident writing and editing content for multiple channels. Creative production experience is a strong asset
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects with multi-stakeholders and a successful track record meeting project deliverables. Employs effective project management process
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Proactive with excellent ability to handle multiple assignments consecutively, prioritize tasks and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Resourceful, able to successfully troubleshoot issues to find solutions while maintaining a positive disposition
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communications skills

 

Qualifications and Competencies

 

  • Post-secondary education in marketing or equivalent work experience
  • Depth of work experience in a marketing environment within a Not for Profit organization is preferred but not essential
  • Effective project manager with the proven ability to manage multiple projects over varying timelines, demonstrating excellence in prioritization and problem-solving (3-4 years project management experience)
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office, Google Analytics and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Data

 

Total Rewards Package

 

The hiring range for this position is $98,000 - $108,000 per year. The salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s years of experience, qualifications and competencies that are relevant to this position. This position is also eligible for performance-based compensation.

In addition to a competitive salary, our total rewards package includes comprehensive health and dental benefits, participation in HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan), flexible work arrangements with a minimum of two (2) days in office, and learning and growth opportunities.
