Early Childhood Educator Assistant

Employment Type: 15 - 20 hours per week

Start Date - August 26, 2024

Salary Range: $22.62 - $25.08 per hour (dependent on education/certificate and experience)

Unity Christian School, located in the picturesque city of Chilliwack, British Columbia, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator Assistant for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This is a part-time position that is mainly serving in our Preschool program. Our Childcare Centre currently operates Preschool, After-school care, and starting in September 2024, Daycare.

The Unity Christian Childcare Centre is a licensed facility, located in the Eastern Hillsides in Chilliwack, BC. Our goal at Unity Christian Childcare Centre is to offer an enriched, non-threatening and stimulating environment that recognizes the God-given uniqueness of each child and his/her individual needs. Through play and varied activities; including music and movement, creative art, Bible stories, games, field-trips, books, and outdoor play, we strive to provide for the child’s social, emotional, cognitive, ethical, aesthetic, economic, physical, and spiritual growth, so that the child is equipped to be a Christ-like servant.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist ECEs in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and curriculum that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.

Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.

Support ECEs in creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children and their families.

Help observe and document children's progress, behavior, and development.

Communicate effectively with parents and guardians as directed by the lead ECE.

Collaborate with other educators and staff to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.

Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.

Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety policies, and daycare center guidelines.

Each candidate must be:

a committed Christian

licensed Early Childhood Educator.
