Temporary Learning Technologies Technician

Reporting to the designated IT Manager, the Learning Technologies Technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of WECDSB owned technological equipment in accordance with Board procedure. Technology involved includes, but is not limited to computers, laptops, printers, networks, and audio-visual equipment. Successful candidates will collaborate with a team of information technology professionals to facilitate an environment that is consistent with the goals of the WECDSB in order to meet the technological and learning needs of the system.

DUTIES INCLUDE :

At the CEC and other Board sites as required- Service to and maintenance of computer hardware, software, P.A. systems, audio-visual and electronic equipment as per WECDSB procedure.

Maintain the repair shop including ordering of replacement parts and keeping inventory of supplies, etc.

Maintain records of equipment repairs and equipment loaned.

Advise on quality standards of equipment for purchase and on replacement for existing models of technology used by the WECDSB.

Set up and put away all technological equipment for presentations at the CEC and for special meetings and events taking place off site. Demonstrate the technical use of equipment to staff as needed.

Maintain accurate inventory and documentation as required.

Warranty and out of warranty repair, initiation and tracking per WECDSB procedure.

Other duties as assigned by the designated IT Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Electronics Technician Diploma from a recognized community college or equivalent.

Experience in repair of various electronic and computer equipment.

Experience in software installations and trouble-shooting.

Valid driver’s license required and own transportation.

Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required.

Self-starter who can analyze a problem and initiate solutions.

Ability to maintain confidentiality
