Construction Oversight Inspector

  • (Internal Title: Construction Management III)
    • Act as a safety leader across areas of the project and ensure all works undertaken on site, are done so in a safe manner
    • Proactively engaging with the Delivery Teams, Contractor and Subcontractors
    • Drive construction delivery
    • Walking the sites and undertaking construction inspections
    • Reviewing work plans, risk assessments and permits to an approved standard prior to work activities commencing
    • Interact with stakeholders to ensure that objectives are being met
    • Carrying out weekly health and safety tours
    • Leading on construction quality
    • Ensuring each handover date, or area completion is achieved snag-free
    • Provides comprehensive technical expertise and understanding of the clients onsite standards for each part of the Project, where to find them, and responsible for implementation
    • Manage staff by monitoring and allocating project construction activities and ensure compliance with the contract requirements and design documents
    • Ensure staff are reporting site quality, safety, and environmental issues
    • Assign staff to identify any non-conformances with the contract and construction documents and ensure they prepare the appropriate documentation as a result
    • Supervise, review, and analyze the completed site inspections for comprehensive and high-quality photo and quantity logs, and recorded site activities
    • Monitor the storage and maintenance of completed construction records and logs
    • Liaise with staff to review the daily contractor activities and make certain staff allocation is scheduled according to the workload
    • Develop an analysis of construction progress gathered through meetings, reports, contractor submission reviews, and schedules
    • Support the resolution of claims or dispute submissions initiated by the contractor (potential or actual)
    • Confirm the completion of regular audits and site visits conducted by specialized SMEs
    • Ensure weekly and monthly KPI reports are completed
    • Monitor and promote effective staff communication with internal and external stakeholders to support project construction activities
    • Track the administration of construction documents and correspondence
    • Develop documentation for the various project phases
    • Formulate and review constructability reports
