Administrative Support III

This Administrative Support III position provides support to a very busy and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department at Chinook Regional Hospital. The primary function of this position is to contact patients with their appointment date and time as well as to control and coordinate the flow of patients in Diagnostic Imaging. The position may also involve greeting and directing patients to the appropriate location within the Diagnostic Imaging. You may also perform order entry of Diagnostic Imaging exams in Connect Care, answer and direct department phone calls, confirm appointments and handle release of information requests. Close collaboration with technical staff, physicians and patients is crucial. Diagnostic Imaging at Chinook Regional is very much a team with this position being an integral part of that team.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

The successful candidate must have exceptional interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and the ability to consistently display professionalism with patients, physicians and staff. Excellent communication skills are required. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position which may included prolonged sitting and walking.

Completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred. One year previous Administrative Support III or Unit Clerk experience within the last 3 years preferred. Experience in a Diagnostic Imaging department is an asset. Experience with Connect Care, PACS and Netcare also preferred. Proficient time management and organizational skills preferred.
