We require an enthusiastic and experienced Administrative Assistant IV for the RAH Surgical Booking Centre. The Administrative Support IV position works both autonomously and collaboratively with the Surgical Team. As an Administrative Support IV, you will demonstrate clear and accurate data entry, open effective written and verbal communication skills to facilitate: Operating Room bookings, schedules, and slates. Performs clerical, computer, and data entry duties. The Administrative Support IV is responsible for data entry with emphasis on attention to detail. The Administrative Support contacts patients accurately communicating dates, times and instructions related to their surgical procedure. Communicates concerns with the Registered Nurse. Displays tact, diplomacy and patience with surgical patients while assisting them in preparation for their surgical experience. The Administrative Support liaises with surgeon's offices, the anesthesiology department, pre-admission clinic, same day admit surgery department, surgical units, medical records and diagnostic imaging. They are responsible to accurately input data into a database, this information is then used in preparation and production of OR schedules.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Must have current experience with surgical procedures. Demonstrate an expertise in Office software, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Connect Care, and NetCare. Candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong grammar and proof-reading skills. Must be able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute. The applicant should have strong Organizational and Time management skills. Ability to work and problem solve under minimal supervision. Goal oriented, results driven with high attention to detail. Demonstrates excellence and effectiveness in communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with Genesys phone system would be beneficial.

Preference will be given to staff with current knowledge of connect care surgical booking practices and related knowledge of surgical services at the RAH. Working knowledge of Alberta Health Services systems and processes; general office policies and procedures.
